Russian missiles hammered the capital of Kyiv, killing at least 11 people. While the scenes are horrendous, people on the ground say these latest attacks have not shaken the Ukrainian people’s resolve.

So far 11 people have been confirmed killed. While many incoming missiles were shot down, those that did hit destroyed a local playground, a tower, and the ‘glass bridge,’ a popular tourist spot.

The mayor of Kyiv says the war’s return to the capital has only one purpose, “the war against civilians.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin says the strikes were in retaliation for Ukraine’s attempts to repel Moscow’s invading forces, including a weekend attack on a key bridge between Russia and the annexed Crimean peninsula. The Ukrainian government hasn’t claimed responsibility for the attack.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskyy will address a video conference of G-7 leaders
