Ruling on Ford video expected today

A judge could decide today whether or not a video that allegedly shows Toronto mayor Rob Ford smoking crack can be viewed by lawyers for a man seen in a famous photo with Ford.

Mohammad Khattak is the man on the far right in the picture (above). Khattak’s lawyers say he had nothing to do with the production, possession or the attempted sale of the video.

The judge may also rule today about whether documents that tell more about Rob Ford’s relationship with alleged drug dealer Alexander Lisi can be released.

Meanwhile at city hall, Ford is poised to face off with council, when a motion for him to take a leave of absence is made a key issue on tomorrow’s agenda. There has been mounting pressure for the mayor to step aside, following his admission to smoking crack cocaine last week.

Ford has vowed to stay on as mayor.
