Ruling calls for SkyGreece to live up to promises

SkyGreece Airlines has until 5:00 pm today to respond to a preliminary ruling from the Canadian Transportation Agency that it’s broken its contracts with passengers.

After leaving passengers waiting for days with little information, the one-plane international airline suddenly announced last week that it was temporarily ceasing operations — leaving passengers in the lurch and unable to contact anyone at its offices.

The transportation agency says it’s prepared to order the airline to properly inform passengers of its compensation policies and to take immediate action to implement them — including refunds or alternate transportation.

About 1000 passengers were stranded last week.  The majority owner of SkyGreece Airlines has apologized but said the situation is beyond his control.

SkyGreece started operations in 2014.  Its only plane is currently parked at Pearson International.
