Royal honour for Mac profs
Two professors from McMaster University have been awarded the country’s highest honour for a scholar in the arts, humanities or sciences: they’ve been elected to the Royal Society of Canada.
Gordon Guyatt is a physician and professor in the department of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics. He coined the term evidence-based medicine and his work has had significant influence in clinical research.
Gerry Wright is a professor of biochemistry and biomedical sciences. He’s also the scientific director of the Michael DeGroote institute of infectious disease research.
The Royal Society of Canada was founded in 1882 and is the country’s oldest and most prestigious scholarly organization. 63 professors at Mac are fellows of the society.
