Rotating Canada Post strikes hit Niagara Falls

Canada Post workers in Niagara Falls joined rotating strikes Friday morning.

Workers in Vancouver, Saint John, N.B. and Sudbury also walked off the job Friday.

CUP-W members have been conducting rotating walkouts across the country since Monday as a special mediator tries to bring the labour dispute to an end.

The union is calling for better health and safety conditions, equality for rural and suburban mail carriers and job security.

Mail and packages will not be delivered or picked up in Niagara Falls or the other cities in this round of job action.

Canada Post says it will work with the special mediator appointed by the federal government this week in hopes of reaching a negotiated settlement.
