Rob Ford makes talk radio rounds

(Update)
The Mayor of Toronto showed up at work early the day after his radio show apology, the one in which Rob Ford said he would try to cut back on public drinking, councillors are speaking out about their concerns.
Lisa Hepfner has the details from Toronto City Hall.
Rob Ford tried to carry on as if it was business as usual at city hall. But clearly, the distractions rage on. And he wasn’t taking questions from the media.
The mayor appeared in good spirits when he arrived at his office for the second time: “You guys weren’t here at 7 o’clock this morning. You guys are slackers.”
But as the city hall circus continued with banana deliveries: “Vote for fruit at work.”
A group of kids from the school where he used to coach football and the occasional vocal supporter.
And constant media attention as the Mayor visited different offices, including his brother’s. Rob Ford started to sound more frustrated: “Please let us in. Please!”
Councillors like Gloria Lindsay Luby say he should take a leave of absence: “The hardest thing for an addict is to admit it, I don’t think he has confronted the issue the way he should be confronting it.”
Many did not feel the mayor’s radio apology was helpful.
Gloria: “I think it was minimalist, not adequate, it didn’t address most people’s concerns, the drug allegations. And just saying I’m sorry I was drinking and got caught, is not good enough. That doesn’t cut it.”
She’s afraid others on council will feel compelled to do as the Mayor says, lest they face robocalls or lack of support in their wards.
Gloria: “Addiction always affects judgement. Yeah, I think it’s a real concern.”
The Mayor’s allies are disappearing too. Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong won’t say whether he’ll remain on the Mayors Executive Council: “The facts and circumstances are troubling to me. We need to move forward. I don’t think the Mayor did enough yesterday to satisfy the public.”
