River torso that of NFNY mom

The torso found in the Niagara River has been identified as 30-year-old Loretta Gates from Niagara Falls, New York.

Gates was last seen August 25th, when she told her mother she was heading to the store across the street, and would be back in 15 minutes.

Family of the mother of three submitted DNA samples to New York State Police to see if the remains found last week were hers. Police say the torso had likely been in the water from between four days to two weeks, before they found it.
