Ride and toy drive for veterans

The Friends of Veterans Canada held a rally Sunday to celebrate the two soldiers who lost their lives recently on Canadian soil.

It started in Trenton and made it’s way to Hamilton to show respect for Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Hamilton’s Coporal Nathan Cirillo.

The rally was also the kick-off for this year’s military toy drive.

Organizer Randy Young says the little one’s need to be thought of Remembrance Day as well.

“We pay so much respect to the veterans, especially at this time of year, but what about the kids? It’s about the kids and saying to their children we care about you and here’s a little something for you.”

The toy drive continues until December 24.
