Friends, family and members of all levels of government gathered into a Mississauga Mosque today to pay their respects to Oakville town councillor Max Khan who died suddenly this Saturday after suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms. While the 46-year old fought off leukaemia 3 times before his death took many friends by surprise.

In the middle of his 3rd term as a town councillor, Max was nominated to run for the Federal Liberal party in this year’s election. It’s current leader, Justin Trudeau, flew in from Ottawa to pay his respects. “Inconceivable to those who knew and loved Max that someone with such extraorinary force for life is no longer with us.”

There’s a book of condolences at Oakville City Hall for people to write down how much they appreciated Max’s work in and out of politics and if today’s turnout is any indication of the affect he had on others, they may need a couple books to be signed.
