Refugee health care chaos

Demonstrators gathered in 19 cities around the country Monday to tell Immigration Minister Jason Kenney to adopt a healthier attitude toward Canadian refugees.
Kenney, and the conservative government imposed severe cuts to refugee health care funding last June in a bid to save health care dollars claiming that the money was providing “gold plated” health care to mostly “bogus” refugees. Monday, hundreds of Canadian doctors and nurses told the minister that not only was he wrong about the type of care the funding provided and who gets it, but that his government is now costing taxpayers more money than ever.
