Red Hill crash

A man has escaped serious injuries after a bizarre crash on Hamilton’s Red Hill Valley Parkway.

The man was exiting the Parkway Wednesday morning when he lost control of his minivan and drove off the ramp and through the bushes.

The driver smashed right through the sound barrier.

Amazingly he suffered only minor injuries and after the crash he was out of the vehicle walking around.

He was the only person in the van.

It happened on the ramp to Greenhill Avenue.

It’s still not clear why the driver lost control.

Police are investigating and say it may have been a mechanical problem.

City crews were called to the scene to see what sort of structural damage has been done.

The Greenhill Avenue ramp was still open after the crash but police had to close it briefly to remove the van from the wall.
