Recession recovery overestimated
Statistics Canada has revised some of its data from the recession, and it turns out Canada didn’t bounce back as strongly as we originally thought.
The new research shows Canada lost more jobs during the recession than previously reported, and there have been fewer new jobs in the recovery.
The new numbers mean there were still some 30-thousand fewer Canadians working as of December than when the recession hit in 2008.
