RCMP seizes $14M worth of cocaine at Peace Bridge in Fort Erie

A 24-year-old man has been charged after roughly $14 million worth of drugs was seized from a truck in Fort Erie.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) says a commercial truck being driven by a Quebec resident entered Canada in Fort Erie on June 15 and was sent for a secondary examination.
Members of the Canada Border Service Agency searched the vehicle and discovered 112.5 kg of suspected cocaine inside five duffle bags.
Pardeep Singh, of LaSalle, Que., is charged with importation of a controlled substance.
He is scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines court on Friday.
“The Canada Border Services Agency plays an integral role in keeping our communities safe. Our officers have interrupted the smuggling attempt of a massive amount of narcotics, and have put a full stop to the ripple effect these narcotics would have in neighborhoods across our country,” said Kim Upper, District Director, Fort Erie District Operations, Canada Border Services Agency in a news release. “The CBSA is extremely proud of its officers and their ongoing role in safeguarding our borders.”
