The RCMP released new details Sunday night regarding Wednesday’s attack on Parliament Hill.

They say the gunman Michael Zehaf-Bibeau prepared a video recording of himself prior to the attack which the RCMP now have in their possession.

They also say his attack was driven by ideological and political motives and it is believed the knife he was carrying was from his aunt’s property in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec where he lived years ago.

The RCMP say they are still investigating where Bibeau got his gun. It is described as old and uncommon.

They say he had a considerable amount of money and are investigating his finances.

They are also following up with people who had interactions with Bibeau before the attack.
