Rash of Oakville break-ins
Halton police are warning southeast Oakville homeowners to be vigilant after three daytime break-ins since the middle of June.
All the incidents happened between 8:30 a.m. and noon.
A man rings the doorbell and knocks several times before checking around the house for an insecure door.
He has stolen small amounts of jewelery after finding unlocked doors despite the fact that he has been confronted by some neighbours.
He is described as a white man in his 40’s, with short dark hair, a tanned complexion and facial stubble.
He’s about 5′ 9″, thick around the middle and has a European accent.
He has been wearing dark pants, a blue golf shirt, a news boy style fabric hat, and has been seen with a black mesh weight-lifting glove on his right hand.
One witness thought he might be a stroke survivor, because of his manner of walking and holding his right arm.
He has been seen in a dark green minivan with Ontario plates.
Anyone with information should call police.
