Rainbow Hill to be sentenced today in child’s death

A Fort Erie woman found guilty in the murder of her girlfriend’s two year old daughter will be sentenced today.
Rainbow Hill admitted to beating Marissa Whalen to death in June 2011. Marissa’s body was later buried on the Six Nations Reserve. Marissa’s mother, Roseanne Whalen, has also been charged with second-degree murder.
The Ontario Coalition for Accountability has launched an online petition calling for an inquiry into the role of the agencies responsible for overseeing child welfare. The petition questions whether more could have been done to prevent Marissa’s death.
