Rainbow Bridal opens temporarily

Brides and bridesmaids were able to pick up their dresses by appointment at Rainbow Bridal on Saturday.
The downtown bridal store, which had been in business for almost 90 years, closed down suddenly Monday after it was seized by its landlord.
The doors of one of Hamilton’s oldest bridal shops reopened temporarily Saturday morning and customers who had been told their gown was in store were able to pick them up.
According to the store’s owner, Barry Sobel, Rainbow Bridal is locked in a landlord-tenant disagreement over $4,520 in unpaid rent.
While Sobel was not able to comment on the ongoing legal case he says his customers are his priority.
For brides who ordered their dresses, Sobel says he’s called each manufacturer personally and will ensure they get delivered to customers.
Rainbow Bridal will continue to let customers pick up their dresses by appointment Sunday and next weekend.
Brides can book an appointment by emailing the company.
