The chairman of the Montreal, Maine and Atlantic Railway thinks his company might not survive the july 6th derailment in Lac-Megantic, Quebec.

That’s as the town and the province’s lawyers continue to pressure the railway to pay for the environmental clean-up, a bill now estimated at almost $8 million.

The railway is already laying off workers as the legal threats and financial demands pile up.
