(Video updated) In the Crown’s opening day against Michael Rafferty the judge warned the jury they’ll hear evidence that many will find “graphic and disturbing.”

Tori’s father — Rodney Stafford — arrived at the courthouse earlier today, followed by Tori’s mother Tara McDonald.

Michael Rafferty, 31, has already pleaded not guilty to the charges of first-degree murder, sexual assault causing bodily harm and kidnapping.

Tori Stafford was 8-years-old when she disappeared while on her way home from school in April 2009. Her body was found three months later. Rafferty’s former girlfriend, Terri-Lynne McClintic has already been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Details of the abduction and killing of Tori Stafford have been kept under a publication ban.
