Questions about Hamilton MPP Sarah Jama persist in Queen’s Park

More questions arose at Queen’s Park on Tuesday about Hamilton Independent MPP Sarah Jama.
In the morning, NDP leader Marit Stiles told a CBC radio program the party would be running a candidate in Jama’s Hamilton Centre riding, saying “as far as I know, and I’m the leader, it won’t be her.”
Jama was kicked out of the NDP caucus last year for making controversial statements in support of Palestine.
Las month, Stiles said members of the party were examining the situation in the riding, and would report back to her on whether Jama could run for the NDP.
The results of that examination have not been released, but after a question period at Queen’s Park today, Stiles again refused to rule out the possibility of Jama running for the NDP.
CHCH News talked with Jama on Tuesday, and she declined to comment on the situation.
Regardless of whether she will be an NDP or Independent candidate, Jama will be running in the Hamilton Centre riding in the next provincial election.
