Queen’s Baton Relay on Friday

Friday morning, the Queen’s Baton Relay will return to the site of the ‘original’ Commonwealth Games — formerly the British Empire Games — which took place 84 years ago, here in Hamilton. Much like the Olympic torch relay — the Queen’s Baton began it’s journey at Buckingham Palace last October, and will make its way across 70 countries before it heads to Glasgow where this year’s Commonwealth games will take place in July. The festivities begin at 10am on Friday at Scott Park Arena, and every one is welcome to attend.
