A Covid-19 outbreak has been declared at Koi, a Japanese restaurant in downtown Hamilton.

Public health declared the outbreak after two confirmed cases were linked to the restaurant on Hess street.

The owner of the restaurant, Ken Collett, confirmed to CHCH News that the two cases are staff members, that they haven’t been in the restaurant since September 20th, and that they’re currently symptom-free.

The restaurant remains open. According to Collett, Koi has fully cooperated with public health and has met all inspection guidelines to remain open.

Public health is advising anyone who may have been at Koi restaurant on September 20th to self-monitor for symptoms.
