Pro-Swift vs Anti-Swift: Local Super Bowl LVIII fans divided

It’s game day between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. While today’s showdown is mainly about which team is better, there are many rooting for different reasons.
“My money is on San Francisco this year — to tell the truth — I’m kind of Kansas City’d out with all the Taylor Swift momentum,” Michael Buick, a local resident who plans to watch Sunday’s game, told CHCH News.
The sentiment is shared by many who see Taylor Swift as this year’s “anti-hero,” but not by all. Many feel the opposite, and say they’re tuning in just because of the “Swift-element.”
“I just kind of love the love story … I just think they won last year, and they have a good chance of winning this year as well,” Leza Kjarsgaard, a Swiftie from Hamilton, said.
Swift travelled 12 hours from Japan to Los Angeles after her concert in Tokyo Saturday night, all to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The Chiefs will try to become the first team since the 2003-2004 Patriots team to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
The 49ers haven’t won back-to-back since 1989, the year Swift was born — and the name of one of her albums.
