Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged

Prince Harry and American actor Meghan Markle are engaged, Kensington Palace announced on Monday.

The pair became engaged earlier this month in London and will live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

In a tweet posted on The Royal Family Twitter account, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh said they are delighted for the couple and “wish them every happiness.”

Kensington Palace also released a statement on behalf of Markle’s parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland. “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.”

Prince Harry and Markle will appeared for a photo call at Kensington Palace on Monday morning and will take part in a broadcast interview which will air in the evening.

The wedding is set to take place in Spring 2018 and more details about the wedding day are expected to be released in the coming months.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said of the engagement:

know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.'
