Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will deliver a message of reassurance to the premiers that his government will continue supporting the provinces and territories.

He spoke with Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister’s Office said they both agreed on the importance of maintaining “a Team Canada approach” and working together on the vaccine rollout.

Another 206,000 COVID-19 vaccines were administered nationwide on Tuesday, making for 6.76 million doses given to Canadians to date.

Just under two per cent of the population has been fully vaccinated.

This comes as much of the country faces down a dangerous third wave of COVID-19.

Several jurisdictions are reporting a majority of hospital patients are now under age 60.

Provinces are facing increasing pressure to get vaccines to younger, essential workers in industries where the virus is spreading.
