(Updated video) Ontario Provincial Police says it’s a miracle anyone survived a horrific crash that killed 11 people.

Three survivors were rushed to hospital after the crash yesterday.

13 migrant workers believed to be from Peru, who worked at Hampstead Poultry, were in an extended van that collided with a tractor-trailer at Perth Road 107 and Line 47, north of Shakespeare.

The driver of the truck has just been identified as Christopher Fulton, 38, of London.

investigators cannot confirm whether the driver of the van went through a stop sign. Officials say the scene was devastating.

Perth county fire chief Bill Hunter: “No one ever expects to see something with that much carnage. It was definitely a terrible scene. I’ve never seen that much damage in a motor vehicle collision before.”

EMS chief Linda Rockwood: “There was carnage, there were a lot people within that mini van and the fire fighters were pulling them out. And it was one after another, one would come and then another would come so it really was difficult for staff.”

Perth county mayor Ian Forrest says he’s overwhelmed by the many messages of support and offers to help those affected by the crash.

Premier Dalton McGuinty issued a statement offering the province’s deepest condolences to those who lost a loved one.

He’s also offered his sincere prayers for the three hospitalized survivors, and thanked emergency workers and investigators.
