Premier Doug Ford will be in Hamilton Thursday afternoon.

Ford will be providing an update on the province’s COVID-19 vaccination plan.

He will be at FirstOntario Centre in downtown Hamilton, which is launching as a large-scale vaccination clinic on Monday.

The clinic will be managed by Hamilton Public Health Services, St. Joseph’s Healthcare and Hamilton Health Sciences, along with paramedic services and primary care physicians.

The city says the clinic will be used on an ongoing basis to accommodate residents who are eligible for vaccines based on the provincial framework.

Full capacity at the clinic will be about 3,000 vaccines a day but things are expected to start slowly.

Vaccine doses will be administered by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Existing mobile vaccination clinics, the West 5th campus clinic and Hamilton Health Sciences large-scale vaccination clinic will continue to vaccinate eligible individuals.

Ford is expected to speak at 1 p.m.
