Power restored to handful of Caledonia homes near demonstrations

The group occupying a Caledonia construction site says power has been restored to homes behind their barricades.

Power was knocked out when the group dug up a portion of Argyle St., hitting a hydro line.

Hydro One did interim repairs but wasn’t able to restore power to all homes.

The group says it worked with the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council, Six Nations Elected Council, the worker’s union, and Hydro One to complete the required work on Sunday.

A handful of homes, which had been without power since Oct. 22, once again have power.
