The heat that we’ve been experiencing lately is the reason for a power outage in Hamilton early Tuesday morning.

There were multiple outages around the Golden Horseshoe, many attributed to the heat, but the one in Hamilton was by design.

At peak time, Horizon Utilities can see as much as a 30 percent surge in power use.
