Possible Pilot Shortage at Ornge

Ontario’s air ambulance service is running low on staff. In the past year and a half several senior pilots have resigned from their posts at Ornge Air.

The shortage of workers could affect patient service, with dozens of shifts left unfilled. The summer season is typically a busy one, with lots of trauma cases. Pilots worry some bases will be under-staffed.

Ornge responded to these concerns, saying recruitment continues to be a priority for the agency.
