A portion of the Kenilworth stairs will be closed for repairs

The city of Hamilton is closing a portion of the Kenilworth stairs starting July 4th for repairs.

More than 1000 people are said to use the stairs every day and now the upper section that connects the stairs to the top of the escarpment will be closed for a couple of weeks at least- if not longer.

City officials say there’s a worrisome sway and the repairs are expected to cost around $95 000.
