Some high school students in Port Dover are camping outside in tents to protest the school’s closure at the end of January.

They’ve started the camp-in five days ago.

The Grand Erie District School Board has decided to close the school due to low enrolment and bus the remaining students to Simcoe, but the students want to finish the school year in Port Dover in June.

Only 56 students were enrolled at Port Dover Composite School in September – just over half the 110 anticipated last June.
