Port Colborne man facing 40 charges in disturbing case

A 55-year-old Port Colborne man faces dozens of charges in a Niagara Regional Police investigation of alleged crimes that happened over a period of 20 years.
Police began their investigation after a community services worker brought forward concerns earlier this month.
The investigation looked at allegations of sexual offences, physical abuse and neglect against a number of victims, most of whom were members of the man’s immediate family.
Most of the offences are alleged to have occurred when the victims were under the age of 16 years.
On Sunday, officers arrested the male, who police are not identifying to protect the identities of the victims.
The man is facing a total of 40 charges.

– Sexual Interference (4 counts)
– Sexual Exploitation (4 counts)
– Invitation to Sexual Touching (4 counts)
– Sexual Exploitation of a Person with a Disability
– Incest (3 counts)
– Corrupting Children (4 counts)
– Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life (4 counts)
– Forcible Confinement (4 counts)
– Assault with a Weapon
– Assault (4 counts)
– Uttering Death Threats
Investigators believe that there could be people in the Port Colborne community who may have been victimized or who may have witnessed events who have not come forward to police.
