Port Colborne fire

A fire in Port Colborne Tuesday would eventually grow to be seen from communities across the Niagara Region and into the United States. The large industrial blaze sent huge plumes of heavy black smoke in the air raising concerns among those who live nearby and in surrounding areas.
There was reason to be cautious, firefighters say the building is the location of Vinyl Works Canada, which houses vinyl products. Firefighters wore a self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective equipment in case of toxic fumes.
The and fire was so intense, the structure collapsed within minutes. Phil Perkins spoke with Port Colborne Mayor John Maloney and Deputy Fire Chief Mike Bendia.
