Pool chemicals set man’s car on fire

It was a close call for a local man when his car burst into flames.

Police say he was travelling in the area of Lake Avenue North and Barton Street East at around 2:45 Sunday afternoon.

The man had pool chemicals on the passenger-side seat which caught fire.

He tossed them from the car but it was already too late – the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Luckily, the man was not hurt.
