Halton Police are warning people about two recent incidents in Oakville, where young children were approached by men in a vehicle.

The first incident is said to have taken place around 8 o’clock friday night. Police say a young boy was riding his bike near West Oak Trails Boulevard when a vehicle tried to block his path. When the driver motioned him to come closer, the boy rode off.

The vehicle was described as a dark green econo-style van, while the men were both said to be white and between 35 and 45 years old. Police say the driver had a long white beard and long blonde hair. The passenger was described as having a short goatee with long hair.

The second incident apparently happened Tuesday night at West Oak Trails and Calloway Drive. Police say men in a vehicle approached the girl and offered her candy in exchange for directions.

In this case the men were described again as white, but between 40 to 50 years old. One of the men was again said to have a grey goatee, while the other had a long white beard. The vehicle is being described as a white cargo or panel type van, similar to a Ford Econoline or GMC Safari van.
