Police use social media in search for robber

Police are using social media to help catch an alleged serial bank robber they’ve named “The Vaulter.”

Police are pushing the suspect’s image out on social media including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest. The man earned his nickname by the way he jumps over the teller counters to get cash. He’s believed to be responsible for 17 heists in Hamilton, York and Peel Regions, Ottawa and Calgary starting in 2010. The Canadian Bankers Association is also offering a $20,000 reward for tips leading to his arrest.
Police are looking for a white man, around 50 years old, between 5′ 8″ and 5′ 10″, 170 to 190 pounds, with grey, shaved or balding hair. Contact police with any information.
