Police try to identify man found dead in Oakville

Halton police are trying to identify a man whose body was found in Oakville on Monday.

Around 6:15 p.m., officers received a 911 call from a citizen who found a man without vital signs in a wooded area near the intersection of Trafalgar Rd. and Rosegate Way.

Police say there were no signs of “obvious trauma” and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s not known how long the body was in the wooded area.

A post-mortem has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

Investigators and the Coroner’s office are now trying to identify the man. He is believed to be in his late 50s to early 60s.
