Police searching for man after armed robbery at St. Catharines convenience store

Niagara police are searching for a man believed to be connected to an armed robbery at a St. Catharines convenience store.
Officers responded to reports of a robbery at an Avondale on Glenridge Ave. around 5:15 p.m. April 16.
Investigators say a man entered the store and grabbed a few items off the shelves before approaching the counter. While at the counter, he pulled a black and blue handgun from his bag and pointed it at the cashier.
He demanded the cash from the register, which he dumped into a bag he was carrying before leaving the store.
No injuries or damages were reported, and the store clerk was physically unharmed.
Police describe the man as being white, average height, around 50-60 years old with black hair and a raspy voice.
He was last seen wearing a blue Helly Hanson coat, a black hoodie, black Under Armour track pants and black shoes.
Officers are considering the man armed and dangerous. Community members who recognize this person are warned not to approach him, but to immediately contact police.
