Police searching for driver after motorcyclist killed in crash on Hamilton’s east mountain

Hamilton police are searching for a driver – and possible passengers – in a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Hamilton’s east mountain Monday night.
Police were called to Limeridge Rd., near Upper Kenilworth, just after 11 p.m. for a crash between a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle and grey 2020 Hyundai Sonata.
Early information suggests the Hyundai was travelling eastbound on Limeridge Rd. E when the driver did a U-turn.
Police say the motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the vehicle while it was doing the U-turn and became wedged underneath.
According to police, the driver of the Hyundai continued travelling for about 100 metres with the motorcyclist under the vehicle.
They say the driver of the Hyundai and possible passengers fled the scene.
The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead.
Police say speed and driver impairment have not yet been ruled out as factors in the collision.
They say they don’t yet know the identity of the motorcyclist or the driver.
