Police say man missing from St. Joseph’s West 5th campus ‘may pose a threat’

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who went missing from St. Joseph’s West 5th campus last month.
Ray Newell is currently an involuntary patient at the hospital and failed to return to the site on July 25.
Police say the 40-year-old is “unlawfully at large” and wanted on a warrant of committal.
“Without his medication, Newell is at a greater risk to public,” said police in a news release.
They say there is concern for Newell’s safety and the safety of the community.
Newell has been known to frequent the Hamilton and Montreal areas.
He is described as roughly six-foot-two, with a medium build, and a shaved head. Newell has several tattoos including a spade above his left eye, cards on his left upper arm, a mythical creature on his upper back, and a microphone and flower on his left forearm. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, bright orange Nike running shoes, dark sunglasses, and a gold chain.
If you come into contact or see Newell, police warn not to approach him and call the police immediately.
