Police release sketch of a man who sexually assaulted a woman on the Bruce Trail

Hamilton police released a sketch as described by a woman who was attacked while she was out for a jog on the Bruce Trail.
Police say the woman remembers someone calling out to her as she got off the Dundurn stairs and onto the trail. When she turned around she was hit by an object and then sexually assaulted. She was treated in hospital and released.
This isn’t the first time women have been targeted along the popular trail. Back in July of 2017, 28-year-old Shane Stevens was charged with assault and sexual assault in connection with two separate attacks in the span of a week. One of the attacks involved a 50-year-old woman at 10:30 a.m.
Police are encouraging any individuals who recognize him or have information about the incident to contact Detective John Tselepakis of the Sexual Assault Unit at (905) 540-5545.
