OPP officer seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Waterdown

UPDATE
An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer has suffered “significant injuries” after being struck by a vehicle in Waterdown Tuesday night.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says it happened around 7 p.m. when several officers were directing traffic at the scene of a collision on Highway 6 near Parkside Dr.

Schmidt says a vehicle drove through the crash scene and struck a sergeant from Burlington’s OPP detachment.
The officer was taken to hospital with serious but non-threatening injuries by paramedics.
Update: OPP officer injured on #Hwy6 has been released from hospital. He has signififant injures that will take time to recover from.
Driver was making a turn at the intersection of Parkside Dr and struck the officer.

Police say the driver was attempting to make a turn at the intersection when the officer was struck.
No charges have been laid.
Police are still investigating the incident.
