Police officer assaulted and spat on by woman during investigation

A 32 year old woman from Hamilton was arrested after assaulting a police officer.

On Tuesday February 9, just after 8:30pm, Hamilton police officers responded to a disturbance on Corbett Street.

The situation was resolved without anyone being arrested, until a woman intentionally slapped one of the officers across the face.

The woman was then arrested, and while being escorted to the police car, she spat in the officers face.

She has since been released, with promise to answer to the assault charges at a later date.
