UPDATE: Lost Niagara Regional Police badge has been returned

Niagara Regional Police say the lost police badge has been returned.

There was no other information released.

Police would like to thank the community for all the help they received.

The Niagara Police were looking for a woman who picked up a lost police badge at the 525 Welland Ave. Walmart parking lot in St. Catharines.

Police say the detective dropped his wallet containing his police badge around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 10.

The wallet was returned without the badge.

Reports say video surveillance footage revealed a woman picking up the badge and leaving the area.
