Police investigating two shootings on the Hamilton mountain

Hamilton police are investigating two shootings that occurred over the weekend.

The first happened Saturday, around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Limeridge Rd W and Britten Close. Police say someone on the street fired multiple rounds before fleeing the area. No one was injured and police believe this was a targetted incident.

The second shooting happened early Sunday morning, between 4 a.m and 5 a.m. at a townhouse unit in the area of Upper Ottawa and Stone Church Rd. Police say a single gunshot was fired at the front door of the unit, the residents were asleep at the time and were not injured. Police believe this was also a targetted incident.

Hamilton Police are asking area residents to check surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity. There is no evidence to link the two incidents.
