Police investigating drive-by shooting on Hamilton mountain

Police are investigating a drive-by shooting on the Hamilton mountain Friday afternoon.

Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting in the area of Mohawk and Upper James in #HamOnt. There is a heavy police presence in the area and traffic will be affected. Please avoid the area as police investigate the incident. Media Officer is on the way to the scene.

Police were called to Mohawk Rd E near Upper James for reports of a motor vehicle accident but quickly determined it was a shooting.

The victim was driving westbound on Mohawk Rd when a car pulled up beside it and started shooting.

The suspect took off and police are looking for a white four-door Volkswagen.

The victim is in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
