Police investigating after teen stabbed near Sam Lawrence Park

Hamilton police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed near Sam Lawrence Park late Thursday night.
Officers responded to calls of a stabbing on Concession Street shortly before 10 p.m.
Investigators say the teenager was approached by two men in the park who demanded money and valuables. When the teenager refused, he was struck in the leg.

Police say the victim and the suspects ran in different directions after this and there is nothing to indicate that they know one another.
The teenager made his way to the hospital after realizing he was stabbed in the leg and stomach, where police say he was treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police say the teenager has since been released from the hospital and investigators are working on the suspects’ descriptions.
