Police investigating after body found near Grimsby skatepark

Niagara police are investigating after a body was discovered near a Grimsby skatepark on Friday morning.
Officers responded to the area of Clarke Street and South Service Road around 8:17 a.m. for a “suspicious circumstances” call.
Investigation conducted led to a body being found in the area.
Detectives from the Niagara Forensics Services Unit and the corner are now investigating the matter and police say there is no danger to the public.
Further details are not being released at this time as investigators await a positive identification of the deceased and notification of next of kin.
Anyone that was in the area of Christie Street and Ontario Street from 9:00pm-11:00pm or anyone who has surveillance video or dash camera footage in the area, is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3 extension 1009528.
