Police investigating after 71-year-old woman struck and killed by vehicle in Grimsby

A 71-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car in Grimsby.

It happened Saturday afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., in the area of Main St. E and Nelles Rd. S.

Niagara police say the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a 57-year-old woman driving a vehicle westbound on Main St. E.

The pedestrian was taken to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries but did not survive. Police say the woman driving the vehicle wasn’t injured.
